The funding landscape keeps shifting. Enrollment keeps falling. I write the Finance for Instructional Leaders newsletter to help school leaders make money matter for student outcomes, more often, no matter how tumultuous things get.

In one year, my school climbed 84 spots in the state rankings. That kind of jump doesn't happen by accident. It happens when budget and instruction finally point the same direction.

+18.5 pts — Juniors scoring ACT 18+, 52.5% to 71%, in two years

The share of juniors scoring an 18 or better on the ACT at my school rose from 52.5% to 71% in two years. Almost a 20 point swing, driven by where the money and the teaching time actually went.

Awarded a Promising Practices designation from Solution Tree, given only to practices with real evidence behind them, not just good intentions.
